Lemon Berry Bonanza!

So on one of my many many hours spent on pinterest I saw a picture of a beautiful lemon cupcake with a berry buttercream frosting and immediately knew I had to have it. So I found the recipe and got to work. The recipe I found was for a lemon poundcake cupcake, which was quite tasty, but it was just too heavy for a cupcake. And coincidentally when making the icing I had a bit of a flub and used about 3 times more berry compote than was necessary to make the buttercream frosting, so I ended up with 3 times more icing than was necessary to frost the cupcakes. So with improvements on my mind and hoards of extra frosting in the fridge I decided to make my grandmother's lemon cake, which is much lighter and ever so tasty, and frost it with the leftover berry frosting, SWEET SUCCESS. Oh my it is absolutely delicious! Extra moist light cake with superb berry frosting that I want to frost EVERYTHING with now because it is so good. It has a homemade taste and its absolutely beautiful and so easy to make. So here are the results of my adventures...
